Gmail and Google Workspace
You sign in with Google. We never see your Google password.- To scan, we ask for read-only access to your mail, plus your email address.
- We only ask for permission to change mail later, and only if you use a feature that needs it: deleting a sender’s emails, or blocking a sender.
gmail.com or googlemail.com, and custom domains hosted by Google, connect this way.
Outlook, Hotmail, Live and Microsoft 365
You sign in with Microsoft. We never see your Microsoft password. Microsoft has one permission that covers both reading and changing mail, so we ask for read and write access to your mail when you connect, plus your basic profile.Yahoo Mail
Yahoo connects through IMAP with an app password. Your normal Yahoo password will not work. See App passwords.Any other mailbox (IMAP)
iCloud, AOL, Fastmail, Proton Mail, Zoho, GMX and most other providers connect through IMAP. IMAP is the standard way for an app to read a mailbox. If your provider is not recognised, enter the settings by hand. You need:- Server address, usually something like
imap.yourprovider.com; - Port, usually
993; - Password, your email password, or an app password if your provider offers them.
