When the checks happen
1
Day 0: you unsubscribe
The sender shows as Checking. This applies when we send the request for you and when you open the sender’s link yourself.
2
Day 14: first check
We count the emails the sender sent since you unsubscribed and compare that with how often they emailed before.
- One email or none, or far fewer than before: Stopped.
- About as many as before: Still emailing.
- Somewhere in between: it is too early to say, so the sender stays on Checking until day 30.
3
Day 30: final check
Only for senders that were unclear at day 14.
- One email or none: Stopped.
- Emails per day fell by half or more: Reduced.
- Otherwise: Still emailing.
Why 14 days and not straight away?
Senders are allowed some time to process a request, and many send weekly or less often. A check after one day would call nearly everyone “stopped”.If a sender starts again later
A sender that was verified as Stopped can still begin emailing again weeks later. When a later scan finds new emails from them, more than a week after the verdict, the outcome changes to Started again. That is a good moment to block them.If we cannot read your mailbox
If the mailbox is disconnected when a check is due, we try again several times over about two days. If it still cannot be read, the sender shows Couldn’t check. This is not a verdict, and it is left out of your success rate. Reconnect the mailbox and we will check again. If you signed up again on purpose
Choose I’ve re-subscribed on the sender. We stop treating their emails as a failed unsubscribe. What the numbers at the top mean
- Stopped: senders verified as stopped.
- Success rate: the share of verified outcomes that worked. Senders still on Checking are not counted yet.
- Ignored you: the senders marked Still emailing or Started again. It is the same group as the Ignored you tab. Review and block them.
- Still checking: senders waiting for their 14 or 30 day check.
